School Council

Pearson Primary School have representatives from each year group who meet each week to discuss improvements their class would like to make in the school. The two democratically voted for year 6 pupils are the School Council Leaders. They run the weekly meetings and meet with the Headteacher each week to update on progress and to seek guidance and permissions for their activities.

The Aims of the School Council

  • To make the school an even better place to learn.
  • To help make school a safe, happy and fair place to learn.
  • To help teach us about democracy and good citizenship.
  • To work in partnership with all adults in the school.
  • To make sure every child can have their say.

Specific focus for 2023-24

– To continue to embed a love of reading in the school.

– To ensure that children in school are learning to be leaders.

– To develop whole school events and plan for lots of opportunities for trips.

My child loves the school and enjoys her time here.

I have full faith in Mrs Clarkson and her wonderful team. They have bent over backwards over the past year to make sure my daughter has an education and I know they will continue to do so. They are amazing and I am so great full for their support for my child throughout the lockdowns. They have exceeded my expectations as they always go the extra mile.

Parent's comments

Pupils work hard to be positive role models and give support to others. They are
very proud of the work they do as restorative practitioners, play buddies and wellbeing ambassadors. This is a highly inclusive school.

I would like to express my gratitude to the extent the school supports the festival of Eid Ul Adha. Not only by allowing the children a day to celebrate with their families but also by celebrating these events in the school as well.
