Religious Education – Curriculum Information

Our lead teacher for RE is Mrs Thackrey.
At Pearson Primary School we follow the Local Authority Agreed syllabus (Hull and East Riding syllabus for 2022).
Our Religious Education Curriculum is set out in our long term plan and exposes children from the EYFS through to year 6 to the three main religions within our community (Christianity, Islam and Judaism).  Children are also exposed to the ideas around Humanism.  Our approach to Religion and World Views Education  enables our children to be able to talk about the wide range of religions and cultures they have learnt about and will be able to talk about how they are similar and different to their own thoughts, ideas and beliefs.
The school has links to the Christian leaders through Princes Avenue Methodist Church , who host us at least twice a year, and to the local Muslim community through Hull Mosque and Islamic Centre and Pearson Park Mosque.  Both of whom support visits from school.  R.E. lessons are further enhanced through visits to other places of worship,  a range of visitors and resources that develop knowledge of 'cultural diversity'.
