School Meals / HCAT Catering
School lunches
At Pearson we employ our own caterers who consistently produce nutritious and delicious meals. There is a wide variety of food choices with a fresh salad bar available each day. Each meal is served with the option of water or juice.
Our kitchen staff are so proud of the contribution that they make to our children’s ability to concentrate and learn. You can see some of their outstanding work on their Twitter Feed at hcatcatering

Information about Free School Meals – Hull City Council
Nut Free School
Pearson Primary School aims to be a Nut-Free school. The school aims to protect children who have allergies to nuts while also helping them as they grow to take responsibility for what foods they can safely eat and to be aware of what foods may put them at risk. We do not allow nuts or nut products in school lunch boxes or for after school club snacks.
Food Intolerances & Allergies
If a child has a known food intolerance e.g. gluten, or an allergy to a specific food e.g. nuts, it is vital the school is kept informed. In the first instance parents should speak to the school office staff who will ensure that the child’s information is circulated to the necessary staff and the school cook.
It can also be arranged for the parent to speak to the school cook as in most cases they will be able to cater for a child’s specific needs without them requiring a totally different meal to the other children.
It is also important that all staff are aware of any intolerances/allergies as the child may be involved in cooking or an activity involving food during the school day
